Northlake WE P1-6-CS 870804 MEMORANDUM
August 4, 1987
TO: Carl Bass, Water Utilities Foreman
Steve Morton, Chief of Development Inspector
FROM: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works
RE: Orainage Problem Located 771 Pelican Lane
Attached you will find a plat of North Lake Woodlands East Phase 6
highlighting Lot t~19 in Block F, which is 771 Pelican Lane. Shohre
Daneshmand, Civil Engineer, has indicated to me that there is a possible
drainage problem at this location that was brought to her attention by the
builder currently constructing a residential home. The builder is Carmen
Homes.
Roy Brock contacted Shohre on July 20, 1987 to inform her of the problem
experienced. Apparently, this lot is at a Iow point on the block and at a
point where the storm water run-off drains. Also, there are two (2) box
storm inlets that are situated in front of the lot and the discharge pipe runs
through the property and northeast to the headwall and eventually to
Grapevine Creek.
I have requested Mr. Bass to provide me with a set of utility plans in order
that Shohre can review the storm sewer design in this area to verify whether
or not it was designed to facilitate positive drainage in the area.
I am requesting both Steve Morton and Carl Bass to inspect the area and
recommend any feasible changes within the confines of our operating budget,
which may help this situation.
Carl's staff will need to perform immediate maintenance, in terms of cleaning
out the inlet and the discharge pipe with resources he has available.
Steve Morton is requested to contact Steve Parson's Engineers, Don Tipton
& Associates, and request their assistance in the event the storm sewer
design was underdeveloped.
If there are any questions, please advise.
