Air shall be introduced into the pipeline until 4.0 psi gauge pressure has been reached. At that tinge the flow of ak shall be ~educcd and the internal air pressure shall be mainlained between 3.5 and 4.5 psi gauge for at leas two (2) minutes to atlow the air temperature to come to equilibrium with the temperature of tim pipe walls. Pressure in thc pipe shall be constantly monitored by a gauge and hose arrangement separate from the hose used to introduce air into the line. Pressure |11 the pipe shall not be allowed to exceed 5 psi. Aftcr the temperature has stabilized and no air leaks at the plugs have been found, the air pressur~ shall be used to determine the time lapse required for the air pressure to drop to 2.5 psi gauge. If the thue lapse required for the air pressure to decrease form 3.5 to 2.5 psi exceeds that shown i~ the following table, the pipe shall be presumed to be vdthin acceptable I/mits [or leakage. If the thne lapsed is less than that shown h~ the table, the contractor shall make corrections to red :ce the leakage to accel, table limits. by: */--t-- , of Li~e One, Inc.
