Oakbend Addn-CS 921105MEMO TO: FROM: SUBJECT: DATE Greg Jones, Acting Building Official Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E., City Engineer Building Permit Application for Foot Bridge Between 719 and 722 Beal Lane in the Oakbend Subdivision November 5, 1992 I have evaluated the plans submitted for the foot bridge and have the following comments to offer: 1) The Storm Water Management Study shows a fully developed floodplain through this area. Therefore, the low chord on the proposed foot bridge should be at an elevation no lower than 499. This is based on one foot above the fully developed floodplain elevation of 498, as shown in the Storm Water Management Study. The benchmark used to establish the elevation should also be provided with the plans. 2) The Storm Water Management Study shows an ultimate floodplain width of approximately 170 feet through this area. The foot bridge should entirely span the 170 foot width. If there are any intermediate piers, then there will need to be a Floodplain Development Permit submitted, with technical information, to show that there will be no increase in the water surface. 3) If the above two requirements are accomplis~l,~hen my recommendation would also be that the width be no wider than~five~.eet. This will ensure that no vehicular traffic will utilize the bridge to a&'~x~e property on the other side. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me a[your convenience. · KMG/bd ~ f ~ foothrid
