Standard Fire Hydrants for ~he

It has come to my attention that the Fire Department and Public
Works Department are in disagreement regarding the use of the Hydro
Storz Adapter Connectors on fire hydrants.
As I understand, the Storz Connector has been accepted in the past
and in a most recent development, Valley Ranch Center and the
Coppell Fire Department has concurred with the use of the Hydro
Storz Adapter-Connectors until recently.
This situation induces a burden on the Plan Review and Inspections
processes due to this difference of opinion. I can only approve
uses and practices that have been accepted by the City of Coppell
either in writing or in practice until there would be a consensus
among city staff to change.
Until that consensus is reached, I can only accept fire hydrants
with the Hydro Storz Adapter-Connector. If you desire to change
our specs on this item, please make initial contact with Public
Works to consider deleting this requirement or proposing another
alternative.
