Note: At 6:00am the GC superintendent was not on job yet, technician informed
concrete crew foreman the first sample slump test result was a 9.5" slump. The
technician was told that corrective actions would be taken immediately. The
Potter Const. crew did not dry up the concrete. Technician informed GC
superintendent about matter and he had an immediate conversation with Potter
foreman. The super told the foreman to correct problem.
Butler Construction Company has two (2) superintendents on this job. The first
super was unhappy with situation. Technician ran an additional slump test in
front of him, the mixer driver and the second Butler super showed up as
technician finished the test. The result was 5.5" slump. Technician explained to
Potter foreman, that the slump on this load was already a .5" over
specifications. Technician informed the Potter's foreman to speak with Butler's
superintendent. The first Butler super is allowing a 6.0 slump maximum. The
entire pour was wet, technician ran a 5 inches slump tests over 420 yards and all
were over a 5 inch slump.
