Dear Mr. McCann:
As requested, a representative of Terracon Consultants, Inc. performed earthwork observation
and testing services for the referenced project. This report covers the services performed from
Decelnber 1 to December 15, 1993. Services provided during this period consisted of observing
stripping operations and performing field density tests, using a nuclear density gauge, on
compacted clay fill.
On December 1, 1993 the Distribution Center stripping operations were observed in the building
pad area, including the drainage ditch located along the east side of the Phase 1 construction.
Vegetation and topsoil removed from the building pad area was placed east of the proposed
construction. On-site clay fill was then placed in the drainage ditch and on the north side of the
building to an elevation of about 3 feet below final subgrade. Based on our Subsurface
Exploration Report (see Terracon Report No. 17935076, dated October 8, 1993), clay fill is to
be compacted at a density between 92 and 96% of it's maximum standard Proctor dry density
(ASTM D-698) at a moisture content at least 3% above it's optimum.

Results of the field density tests along with three standard Proctor tests are attached. Tests 1
to 40 were perlbrmed in the drainage ditch and tests 41 to 137 were performed in the building
area. Test 41 to 137 were referenced to the southeast building corner which was given an
assumed station of 0 north and 0 west.
