TITLE: Assistant City Manager/City Engineer INITIALS STAFF COMMENTS: The City of Coppell Engineering Dept. has been contacted concerning the abandonment of an existing 10 foot utility easement on the west side of 342 Walnut Grove Lane. The City has no utilities in this easement. The franchise utility companies have stated that they have no utilities in the easement and no plans to utilize the easement in the future. ReMax Real Estate Company has provided a statement of value of the easement, which is included with this agenda item. The following utilities have been notified and have responded in writing as requested: TU Electric GTE Lone Star Gas Paragon Cable This request is required by the City of Coppell in order to begin construction of a pool that will encroach upon the existing utility easement. Please submit all attached letters for review at the next City Hall meeting on the 14th of May, 1996, so we will be able to proceed with construction. Thank you for your time in this matter. 'This is primarily due to the fact that this easement runs along the perimeter of the property adjacem to the street and. therefore, has no 'value usage'. The easement is not in use by the utility companies at this time as the utilities are currently underground along the north sidc of the property. Therefore Lone Star Gas Company does not object to the abandonment of the 10' Utility Easement as indicated on the attached layout.
