Re: Pecan Valley
Dear Mr. Griffin;
It was brought to our attention this morning that we had a short
section of the 10" PVC sewer main we recently installed holding some water.
The televising of this line showed approximately 13' of water 1" deep.
I talked with your insp~or Larry Davis, and appealed to him that this
small amount of water being held in a line that only has .2 percent
of fall to it is not a problem. The City of Dallas allows 1/2" of standing
water in lines with .7 of fall or less. To try to dig up this section and raise
it may well create problems on either side of this area. Larry has asked us
to swab all 4 sections of 10" to clean out some discoloration from dirty water
in the line. which we are doing today. He then is asking us to re-televise
these sections which we will do tomorrow at 8:30 am. I asked Larry to
please try to be there for the televising so he could view is as it goes and
not have to wait on the films to get back to him.
As you may or may not be aware of, this project has had to be done in
several sectio~because of a trash pit that was discovered during construction.
This has put the developer far behind in his schedules besides costing
a large amount of money to get the material removed. Because of these
setbacks, I appeal to you to allow this small sewer swag to stay in place;
and approve the sewer so the paving contractor can complete the project
immediately.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Philip C~llum
