Peninsulas-CS 970403 MEMORANDUM FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING To: Greg Jones, Chief Building Official From: Ken Griffin, P.E., Dir. of Engineering and Public Works RE: Peninsulas of Coppeil Date: April 3, 1997 In accordance with Floodplain Management Ordinance /D4-639, Section C entitled "Floodplain Development Permit", the City of Coppeil received a floodplain study from Carter and Burgess Engineers which demonstrates, with technical data, that fence placement along the north side of lots 1-9, Block B (702-734 E. Peninsula Drive) will not have an adverse impact on the 100-year floodplain elevation. Because of the submittal of that information, the City of Coppell Engineering Department will not object to the placement of fences and/or pools on the referenced lots. However, prior to a building permit being issued for any improvements in the floodplain on the referenced lots, a floodplain development permit will be required from this office. For the floodplain development permit to be issued, a proposed site plan showing the location of fences, types of fence material, pool and deck locations, etc. will be required to be submitted. The only type of fencing to be considered in this application will be wrought iron, decorative metal and/or chain link type fencing. No solid fencing will be considered. With this memo, I am enclosing a letter from Carter and Burgess and a summary of the water surface elevations. The actual report is housed in the City of Coppeil Engineering Department. If you should have any questions concerning this issue please feel free to contact this office at your convenience. cc: Bert Weathersbee, Carter and Burgess - Tim House, Perry Homes 1660 S.
