Parks Coppell ABQ-CS 881003 GINN, INC. CONSIILTING ENGINEERS October 3, 1988 Mr. Russell Doyle, P.E., City Engineer City of Coppell P.O. Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Re: Drain Structure No. 5 - Parks of Coppell Dear Russell: Per your request of 9/30/88 regarding the above referenced subject, we offer the following comments. Per our "technical" review we conclude the following: 1. PE seal, signature and date needs to be shown. 2. Add toe wall under the upstream wall section planned to be removed to prevent undermining of inlet structure. 3. Show water surface and flow line elevations of the inlet. 4. Flap gate on 48" RCP outlet pipe needs to remain in place to prevent backwater effect into the lake from Denton Creek. 5. Reinforcing bars should be installed into existing concrete using waterproof epoxy. We have no "municipal" comments since the actual lake concept together with the park was basically handled by the park consultant, Creative Concepts of Dallas. Our review of the lake, originally, was only from a technical standpoint. We do not have a copy of the Univest/City agreement for this lake on file but either Dorothy, Taryon or the park consultant should. I believe Councilman Dean Wilkerson was the City's liasion on this subject also. It is still unclear to our office as to the purpose of this request. We hope this accommodates your needs.
