Dear Russell:
I have advised ABQ Development Corporation that the City of
Coppell has required the Coppell Independent School District to
install buttons in the westbound lane of Parkway Boulevard to
provide temporary channelization of traffic into the left turn
lane at the intersection with the High School Access Road. ABQ
understands the additional safety benefit this channelization
will afford as long as Parkway Boulevard ends just past this
intersection.
As shown on the attached drawing, the requested channelization
buttons will render only a short section of ABQ's frontage on the
north side of Parkway Boulevard west of Denton Tap Road
accessible to Parkway Boulevard without having to cross the
proposed channelization buttons. While the temporary
channelization is in effect ABQ requests that the City of Coppell
agree to allow driveways affording vehicular access to ABQ
property north of Parkway Boulevard west of where the
channelization buttons intersect the north curb line. Driveway
design and spacing shall be in accordance with City requirements.
City compliance with this request should satisfy concerns of
potential purchasers of this property regarding access while
temporary traffic channelization is in effect.
Please indicate the City's agreement to allow driveways in
Parkway Boulevard adjacent to the temporary traffic
channelization area west of Denton Tap Road by executing the
attached copy of this letter and returning same to me. Thank
you.
