In view of my residence in Raintree Village, I (like most of us), utilize the
inte~ection of Samuel · Ma~AAhur extensively for entering and leaving
our developement.
After many yea~ of residence, I continually notice confusion of
approaching tra~ on Samuel Blvd to MacA~hur. ~earing the inter-
section, the pavement a~ows ma~ed are the opposite of w~at one would
expect. If you want to enter Raintree Village (straight), you ~ave to line up
behind ~a~ that are mostly turning left on No~hbound MacAAhur. The
right lane (right turn only), is visually vacant. To complicate matte~, if
your intent is going straight into Raintree Village, the facing tra~c is
often assuming you are turning left with the rest of the ca~, and near
misses are frequent.
To ease and make less ~onfusing, revere the a~ows (per my sketch), to
improve tra~ flow, and take the guess wo~ out of whether or not on-
coming tra~c will turn or not turn.
If you take time to monitor this inte~ection, pe~aps you can see how
f~strating it is.
Make the inside lane a "left turn only" lane and the outside lane a
"straight ahead or fight turn only" a~ow.
