Raintree-CS 851127 November 27, 1985 Coppell Municipal Utility District c/o Pierce-Lunsford Associates, Inc. 3109 Carlisle Suite 206 Dallas, Texas 75204 Re: Geotechnical Investigation Utility Backfill Rain Tree Village Coppell, Texas Gentlemen: In accordance with the request of Mr. Jeff Hawkins with Pierce-Lunsford Associates, we have advanced two continuous sample borings at locations specified by others at the above referenced project. Undisturbed specimens of the subsurface soils were obtained with thin- walled Shelby Tube Samplers (ASTM D 1587). The soil specimens were extruded from the tubes in the field, logged, sealed and packaged to maintain "in situ" conditions, and tranported to our laboratory for further testing. Once in the laboratory the samples recovered were visually inspected by a Geotechnical Enigneer. Moisture Content and Dry Unit Weight tests were performed on representative samples as requested by Mr. Hawkins. These test results were then compared to the Standard Proctor test (ASTM D 698) for similar soils on this project based only on the soil descrip- tion. The percent of maximum dry density values are only an approxima- tion of what exists in place at the two test boring locations. The results of our findings are tabulated on the enclosed Summary page. We trust this information satisfies your present needs. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us. Sincerely, MAXIM ENGINEERS, INC. Mark A.
