We have prepared two reports, one that addresses ixisting conditions and one that includes ultimate conditions. As you are aware, the FEMA sublittal must be confined to existing conditions~ so we kept the reports separate. It is intended that only the re~ort entitled~ Flood Study in Support of a Conditional Letter of Map Revision for Johnny Tho~pIon Property South of Sandy Lake Road and West of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in the City of Coppell, Texas is to be sent to FEMA. The report entitled: Flood Study of Ultimate Condition 100 Year Flood for Johnny Thompion Pro~lrty South of Sandy Lake Road and West of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River Coppell, Texas is for City Ordinance requirements. Page -2- e If a flood study is submitted to the city before Hay 14, 1996 it will fall under the 1991 ordinance requirements which will not require Corridor Development Certificate (CDC) permits. Senior Hydrologist FLOOD STUDY OF ULTIMATE 100 YEAR CONDITIONS FOR THE JOHNNY THOMPSON PROPERTY SOUTH OF SANDY LAKE ROAD AND WEST OF THE ELM FORK OF THE TRINITY RIVER IN THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS BY MORRISON HYDROLOGY/ENGINEERING, INC. 210 ARNOLD ARLINGTON, TEXAS 76010 DATE MAY 1996 Introduction This report should be used in conjunction with the report entitled~ Flood Study in Support of a Conditional Letter of Map Revision for the Johnny Thompson Property South of Sandy Lake Road and West of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in the City of Coppell, Texas The purpose of this study is to make sure that the fill is above the 100 year ultimate condition. Hydrology The hydrology used was completed by the Corps of Engineers and provided by Mr. Mike Denella. A summary sheet of the provided lnfo~mation is included on the following sheet. The discharge used was 51500 cfs. Hydraulics using the model developed by the Corps as a base, the Thompson fill was added and the discharge of 51500 cfs was used to determine the ultimate proposed condition. This computer model is included in the appendix of this report. It was discovered that the maximum 100 year flood elevation at the Thompson fill would be 444.36 feet, which is well below the proposed fill. Summary This report has shown that the ultimate condition 100 year flood level at the property proposed to be filled is well below the level of proposed fill.
