RE: Sidewalk Repair
Mr. Davis,
I have investigated the complaints as outlined in the attached three letters and each
property owner has been contacted personally by our project supervisor, Cynthia Gracia.
The complaints by Laura Gibbons and Sandra Nell were handled several months ago.
The problem expressed by Mr. Tennyson was of his own making. We were instructed
not to repair past the first panel toward any house. The Tennyson's were given the
opportunity to pay the $80.00 for Quantum Contracting, Inc. to remove and replace the
next panel but chose to negotiate with the City instead. Our crews completed the contract
at the end of April and moved on to another project.
Judging from the list of complaints similar to Mr. Tennyson' s, it would be wise on future
sidewalk projects to outline the City's policy in regard to failed sidewalks on personal
property (this could be included in the info with the advance door hangers) and give each
property owner the opportunity to make arrangements before the repair crew gets to their
residence.
