This report addresses the activities for the period of June 9 through July 27, 1994. On June 9, 1994 three samples of the natural subgrade were obtained and returned to the laboratory for development of optimum moisture- density relationships (Standard Proctor Curves). Test results are attached as Plates 1 through 3. During the period of June 21 through 24, 1994, a total of 20 field density tests were taken on the fill placed with Sanitary Sewer Line A, the eight-inch water line and the storm sewer lines. Test results are summarized on Plate 4. Where tested, materials were found to be in compliance with project specifications. On July 5, 1994, a representative of our firm evaluated the paving subgrade and obtained two representative samples of subgrade materials. The samples were returned to the laboratory and lime series tests were performed. Test results are summarized on Plate 5. Based on the test results and the City of Coppell requirements, it was recommended that the paving subgrade be stabilized with six percent commercial hydrated lime (27 pounds per square yard). On July 25, 1994, gradation of the soil lime mixture was checked. Test locations and results are shown on Plate 6. Based on the gradation results, the subgrade was approved for compaction.. Standard Proctor compaction tests were performed on two representative samples of the soil-lime mixture. Test results are shown on Plates 7 and 8. 2424 STUTZ DRIVE · SUITE400 · DALLAS, TEXAS75235 · 214/350-5600 · (FAX) 214/350-0019 Papagolos Development & Murchison Properties, Inc. Project No. 1779.1/Report No. 1 August 15, 1994 Page 2 On July 27, 1994, field density test were performed on the compacted lime treated subgrade. Test results are summarized on Plate 9. Where tested, compaction levels exceeded 95% Standard Proctor density, with moisture contents within two percentage points of optimum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call.
