Several retaining walls were tested. The dry density results show that the backfill has consistently Iow dry density and compaction throughout the area regardless of which type of soils were encountered. Results of these tests are attached. Also, it was noted that voids were present at various locations in the center of the walls. The walls have open 2-3 inch pvc drain pipes exposed on the vertical side and extend into the backfill. No gravel, or filter fabric was noted behind the wall.
