Market Street, Suite 410 Dallas, TX 75202 RE: Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Program for Project 10 Project # ST96-02 Dear Mr. Nicodemus: City of Coppell has again reviewed the plans submitted for the intersection of Denton Tap Road at Bethel Road and MacArthur Blvd. at Beltline Road and has the following comments to offer: 1. On the cover sheet, please include the City of Coppell project number which is ST96-02. 2. Signature blocks on the cover include places for DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill and GSW but not for Coppell. Please correct. 3. There is an index of sheets provided referencing various sheet numbers, however no sheet numbers are provided on the construction plans. Please provide sheet numbers. 4.The quantity summary sheets are blank. 5. On the miscellaneous paving detail sheet for the recessed curb detail, the transition should be 2,590 millimeters not 1,525 as shown. Denton Tap Road/Bethel Road 6. On the paving plan for Denton Tap/Bethel Road, label the curb return radius dimension. 7. On the intersection layout, various components of the intersection layout such as the existing 600 millimeter sanitary sewer and proposed Type 'Y' inlet are not shown. MacArthur Blvd and Beltline Road 8. On the intersection layout for MacArthur Blvd. at Beltline Road provide a North arrow. On the same sheet provide traffic light dimensions letters A through F. 9. It appears that additional stripping may be required during construction and then removed and replaced after construction to allow adequate clearance around the proposed barrels separating the construction area from the driving area. 10. On the typical section at MacArthur Blvd. and Beltline Road, as previously indicated, the median should be reduced to approximately 4.77 meters and the left turn lane, which in the future will be the third through lane on Southbound MacArthur Blvd., should be 3.3 meters. Also, on the same typical section it appears that you are mixing soft conversions with hard conversions. All of the lane width designations are soft conversions while the medians and the parkways are hard conversions. Shouldn't all of the conversions be the same? 11. On the paving plan at MacArthur Blvd. and Beltline Road, please provide a dimension for the proposed back of curb to the existing back of curb. 12. On the same sheet, is there a transition for the 2' retaining wall or does it just begin and end? 13. On the intersection layout of MacArthur Blvd. at Beltline Road there is an existin~ double 36" storm drain with head walls located immediately north of the railroad tracks. There is also a 750 millimeter sanitary sewer between the 450 millimeter sanitary' sewer and the double 36' storm drain system. 14. On the traffic control plan for Denton Tap Road, it appears that the sign Number 5 is labeled incorrectly. Thank you for your consideration of these comments, and if you should have any additional questions or need any additional information please feel free to contact me at your convenience. Sincerely, Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E. Director of Engineering and Public Works ~le/projec~s/ST96~2/dslco~8.doc
