Section B, il(a), which states that the Floodplain Administrator must "assure that conditional
approvals are received from FEMA before a Floodplain Development Permit is issued" for the
proposed Riverview Estates along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.

This proposed variance to the Floodplain Management Ordinance is being requested by Don
Huff'roes of Austin Catbird, L.P. Mr. Huff'roes is requesting this variance so that a Floodplain
Development Permit can be issued in order that development can commence in the Riverview
Estates Subdivision.
The study submitted to FEMA has been received and the acknowledgement letter was written on
October 1, 1997 stating that the report is being reviewed. Staff has no objection to this request
provided that any changes requested by FEMA be complied with prior to acceptance of the project
by the City.
Staff will be available to answer any questions concerning this issue.
