Remarks: On this date, a representative of Fugro South, Inc. was present on the above mentioned project
to perform the following tests and observations as requested:
Building subgrade select fill testing was scheduled, however upon arrival at the job site the material, a
reddish orange silty sand, which had been placed and compacted appeared to be non - plastic. After
obtaining the Atterberg Limits test results from our lab it was confirmed that the material being placed did
have a zero plastic limit and a -200 sieve result of twenty-two, neither of which fit the project specification
criteria for select fill. The K.A. Sparks Superintendent Jerry Jones was advised of the test results and
density testing was cancelled. Mr. Jones indicated that he would not place any more of the non-
compliant material unless approved by the architect.
