Dallas County Department of Public Works 411 Elm Street Dallas, TX 75202 RE: Request to administer a Title 23 Project in the City of Coppell Dear Mr. Beene: The City of Coppell is participating in the Dallas County CMAQ Program. Currently, five CMAQ intersection improvements are under design in our City. One of the five, Sandy Lake at Moore, is within the limits of the Sandy Lake Road project currently being designed by the City of Coppell. The intersection of Sandy Lake Road at Moore Road is in CMAQ Project 10. Extensive design coordination has occurred to ensure that the Sandy Lake Road improvements and the CMAQ intersection improvements at Sandy Lake and Moore will complement each other. The only feasible method to actually build these two construction projects is to build them simultaneously. To accomplish this objective, the City of Coppell proposes to administer the bidding and construction management of the CMAQ Title 23 intersection improvements at Sandy Lake and Moore Road as part of the Sandy Lake Road project. The other four locations in the CMAQ Project 10 would continue to follow the standard procedure for project administration. The City requests that Dallas Cour/ty forward this request to TxDOT and would solicit your concurrence in this request. If you should have any questions please contact me at (972)304-3679.
