As requested by Mr. David Turner with K.B. Alexander. Trinity Engineering/Kleinfelder
(Trinity) has completed this phase of the testing and evaluation of the building pad. This phase
included post-injection testing.
The specifications for the project require sampling of the chemical-injected pad at an interval of
one boring for each 5,000 square feet. We used continuous sampling techniques at 1-toot
intervals to the injection depth. We understand that the swell tests, performed on selected soil
samples, should have an individual maximum swell of 2 percent and an average not to exceed 1
percent for each boring. Additionally.', the moisture content of each-sample is determined.
The field sampling consisted of five borings drilled within the injected area on August 21. 2001.
The borings were continuously.' sampled to a depth 10 feet below the existing ground surface.
We selected four swell samples t¥om each boring and tested each at an overburden pressure
equivalent to the soil overlying the sample. The results are attached on Plates 1 and 2. Post-
Injection Test Results.
The results were evaluated using the previously mentioned acceptance criteria. Based on the
swell test data. it appears that the injected pad is within specified limits.
