I was contacted this date by Carol Vessey on behalf of her mother, Ruth Alexander. Ms.
Alexander's property is located at the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Denton Tap at
Bethel. After faxing a copy of the proposed design to Ms. Vessey, I discussed it by telephone
explaining that right of way take would be required from the Denton Tap frontage to
accommodate a right turn lane on southbound Denton Tap, and along the north side of Bethel
Road. Ms. Vessey expressed concert that this right turn lane would increase traffic utilizing
Bethel Road thus disturbing her mother who lives at the top of the hill. Ms. Vessey was also
concerned about how much they would be paid for the right of way. I explained with an
overview, the right of way acquisition process and advised that an appraisal would be
developed for the offer made by the county to acquire this needed right of way.
No further follow up is required at this time.

Subject: Roadway Construction at the Intersection of Denton Tap Road and Bethel Road

Dear Ms. Alexander:
Roadway construction is being planned for the subject location. This construction will involve the
addition of turn lanes at the interse.c~i.'on. The proposed improvements also include enhancements for the
disabled, and utility and traffic signal adjustments.
Additional fight-of-way is needed to implement the project and may affect your property. These
improvements are part of an area wide pro~am intended to reduce congestion and help improve the
region's ah' quality and mobility. Improvements for th~s location were submitted for consideration into
the program by the City of Coppell. Design of the impr6vements is expected to be completed this year.
The Texas Department of Transportation will be administering construction .anticipated to start
sometime in 1998 - 1999.
Preliminary plans are available for public review until April 16, 1998. You are invited to review them in'
person or request additional information-. These requests can be coordinated through Don Ingrain at the
Program Management office. Please contact Don at (214) 747-6336 ext. 29, if you desire further
information.
