I have reviewed We ~f~mation you sent me concerning the signs
reques~dbytehCo~l! ~dependent School District. It appears
that b~h ~s w~ld violate the sign ordinance.
The horseshoes painted on the street would violate section 10-4-3.
Section 10-4-3 lists signs that are specifically prohibited.
Included within this section are: "Signs attached to or painted
on any sidewalk, curb, gutter or street (except house numbers)."
Although the site plan included with your memo does not show
property lines, it appears that the sign proposed to be located
next to the roadside would be located within the right-of-way of
Cowboy Drive. If this sign is located within the street right-of-
way, it would be in violation of section 10-4-3 K. Regardless, the
sign would violate two other sections of the sign ordinance.
First, the proposed sign is a pole sign. Ail pole signs are
prohibited within the city. Second, the sign would be an off
premise sign. All off premise signs are also prohibited from being
erected within the city.
