Re: Coppell High School Benchmark
Dear Jerry:
On Tuesday, August 26, we received correspondence from your surveyor, J.
B. Davies, regarding a conflict between the two benchmarks shown on the
construction plans. Your surveyor used the benchmark designated "B.M." on
the drawings with elevation 467.22 and ran a loop to the second bencPm~rk
shown on the drawings designated "T.B.M." with elevation 484.23 and found
a 0.56-foot discrepancy between the t~ bencP~arks as shown on the
drawings ~nd what they determined it should be in the field.
We have contacted Ayers & Associates, the owner's surveyor, who performed
the topographic survey for the site and requested that they verify this
discrepancy. ~ley have subsequently informed us that the B.M. sh~n on
the dr~ings with elevation 467.22 is a F~4A b~machmark and using it to
check into anot~her FE~ benchrm~rk in ~_he area, ~]ere was a 1.03 foot
discrepancy. Therefore, Ayers & Associates took the difference between
~e t~,~ benc~hn~ks, divided it Ln half and applied that to their to B.M.
which would account for the .56 discrepancy which J. B. Davies discovered.
Therefore, all construction staking shall be performed by using the T.B.M.
benchmark of elevation 484.23 for the site. (This T.B.M. is 0.56 feet
lower ~an the FEMA datum.) This infornu~tion was given to J. B. Davies
per their request on Tuesday, August 26 by phone. Should you have any
