Damage Due to Construction
This morning Robert Mitchell and myself went to Plantation Dr. and
Tara Ct. to observe damage he had previously reported to me. The
brick nose of the median was crushed where a concrete truck had driven
upon it and the grassed area had also been driven upon by another
vehicle. These observations were made at 8:45 a.m. I attempted to
find the person who might be supervising the development for Fox &
Jacobs and ascertain who might also be responsible for this damage.
I spoke with Terry at Fox & Jacobs' office on Plantation & Magnolia
who said two groups may have done this. Their plumbing group or
concrete sub contractor were his suggestions. The concrete group
is with Lattimore Redi-Mix.
I am writing to Fox & Jacobs and Lattimore to have them address the
median damage. I am also telephoning Lattimore to inform them of
their truck jumping a curb and washing out, poor driving abilities
and asking them to address this.

Dear Mr. Houser,
During the construction of the homes along Plantation Drive in Shadow
Ridge Estates of Coppell some damage has occurred to City property
and requires repair.
The damage more specifically has occurred on several median areas
in the middle of Plantation Drive. This includes brick pavers crushed
by a concrete truck, a motor vehicle or piece of equipment crossing
the median while soft rutting it and possible damage to the irrigation
system.
This damage is along the most highly trafficked roadway in this
subdivision serving as its focal point. I am requesting that your
firm repair these items or secure a commitment from your sub contractors
to do so. I have begun receiving phone calls concerning this damage
from residents of the area, please address this expeditiously.
If you have any questions or need some assistance, please contact
me at (214) 462-8495. Future incidents involving damage could subject
those responsible to a fine not to exceed $500.00 for damaging public
property.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Coppell Park Department

This letter is a follow up to our telephone conversation on March
14 regarding damage to public property within our City. To be more
specific along Plantation Drive in the Shadow Ridge Estates area
currently under home construction.
Myself and a crewleader observed damage to brick pavers, a grassed
median and perhaps an irrigation system currently inoperable due to
a leak in that area, possibly caused by one of your drivers.
While making our observations and photographing these, several of
your trucks arrived. Two were being operated in an unsafe manner
and an additional truck had run up on to another median in order to
provide the builders better conditions to work from his truck. In
addition the washout of trucks was occurring down the street on a
lot which sits on a corner of Bethel School Road, a heavily traveled
east/west road in the community. The trucks were again jumping the
curb to access this site. This is indeed not a good practice and
has resulted in cracked curbs and streets forcing expensive repairs.
I would appreciate any instructions you could give your drivers
regarding these unsafe or hazardous ac~s. The City Code does levy
a $500.00 fine for' damaging public property and is enforceable in
this situation should an incident be witnessed.
Thank you for your time, consideration and cooperation in remedying
these situations. I may be reached at (214) 462-8495 if you wish
to discuss this further.
Sincerely,
Ridhard Diano
