Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Re: Lee Elementary School Drainage Plan Dear Ms. Daneshmand: We have reviewed the above referenced plans for general conformance to the City of Coppell ordinances and standards. The following sets forth our comments. 1. We reviewed this plan separately from the "conceptual" drainage plan and also the Coppell Church of Christ plans, even though all three are relative to each other. 2. We would recommend placing an underground conduit across the length of the property in lieu of the open ditch concept, if at all possible. The 8'x8' wye inlet will become an attractive nuisance for the school children and the 160 c.f.s, flow of water could be potentially dangerous. 3. Identify whether the 50' drainage and utility easement is existing or proposed. If proposed, is the Coppell I.S.D. willing to dedicate the needed easement? 4. Indicate 100-year water surface on ditch cross section. Will water be contained within ditch boundaries? 5. If ditch is constructed, suggest that top bank along west property line be set off property a minimum of 3 feet. Also, if channel is constructed, concrete pilot channel is required. 6. Who is responsible for maintaining channel? Please address. 7. Excavated channels shall be landscaped according to the Subdivision Ordinance. What provisions are made for this project? 8. What, if any, access is available to the drainage easement for maintenance purposes? 10. Reference the "erosion control" - how long will the straw bales last? How adequate are the bales for velocity dissipation? Seeding is not acceptable for side slopes~ sodding is required.
