RE: Southwestern Bell Meeting
I have been communicating with Southwestern Bell represematives over the past three months
regarding telecommunication services to businesses in our community. I met today with two
represematives from Southwestern Bell to discuss the possibility of providing
telecommunication service to Grapevine Mills Mall via the city of Coppell in the future.
Their proposal would route fiber optic line through the city beginning at Freeport Parkway,
north to Bethel Road, west on Bethel to Royal Lane, north on Royal to Sandy Lake and
continuing west on Sandy Lake over to Grapevine Mills.
I advised them briefly on what it takes to get a franchise for telecommunications. I directed
their construction engineers to contact your staff to determine whether there is sufficiem
access for the fiber optic line along the proposed route. I gave the names of your staff
members to Anthony Dragon, of Southwestern Bell, who will coordinate informational
exchanges on the project next week. I also called Mike Martin to give him notice. Please
