The Board of Trustees of Coppell Independent School District
would like to request a name change for the street currently
named "Cowboy Drive".
We believe "Cowboy Drive" is a vital part of the physical
make-up and the traditions associated with Coppell High
School. We would like to move the name "Cowboy Drive" to
the access road that links Parkway Blvd. and the new
Coppell High School facilities.
With the possibility that the existing "Cowboy Drive" might
eventually extend to Freeport Parkway, we recommend that it
be renamed "Wrangler Drive" and the existing "Wrangler Drive"
be changed to "Wrangler Circle" because it ends at school
property. Since the population is currently familiar with
where "Wrangler Drive" is located, this should help lessen
the confusion of the name change.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF COWBOY
DRIVE TO WRANGLER DRIVE, AND ALSO CHANGING THE NAME OF WRANGLER DRIVE TO
WRANGLER CIRCLE; AMENDING SECTION 1-4-2 OF THE COPPELL CITY CODE TO
REFLECT SUCH CHANGE OF NAI~E; AND AMENDING ANY OTHER REFERENCE IN THE
COPPELL CITY CODE ACCORDINGLY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the name of the existing segment of Cowboy Drive, which intersects
with Freeport Parkway on the west side and Denton Tap on the east side, be
changed to Wrangle Drive, and that the existing Wrangler Drive, which
intersects with Cowboy Drive, be changed to Wrangler Circle.
SECTION 2.
That all other references in the Coppell City Code to said portion of
Cowboy Drive and WranGler Drive are hereby changed to read WranGler Drive
and Wrangler Circle, respectively. All ordinances in conflict with the
provisions hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3. "
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage as
the law and charter in such cases provide.
Duly passed by the City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas on the
