St Joseph-CS010823August 23, 2001 Mike Millican Aguirre Corporation 12700 Park Central Dr, Floor 15 Dallas, Texas 75251 RE: Saint Joseph Village Dear Mike: I have reviewed the grading plans submitted for the referenced project for the Early Grading Permit and have the following comments to offer: 1. During our phone conversation, you indicated that you provided spot elevations as opposed to contours so that the contractor would know exactly what elevation to cut the property to. That seemed like a good idea, however, upon review of your plan the only spot elevations provided are along the roadways. My inspectors do provide inspection of the grading and without a reference from existing to proposed, it is very difficult for them to ascertain whether or not the grading is generally taking place as proposed. Also, with no elevations provided for a large portion of property, it is unknown whether that property is proposed to be filled or cut. Therefore, in a change of direction from our conversation, I do need a copy of a plan that shows the existing contours along with the proposed contours on the same sheet. It would be helpful if that were provided on one sheet similar to the scale that the erosion control plan was provided on. If you choose to still include the spot elevations for your contractor's reference, that would be acceptable. 2. The location of your construction entrance off Starleaf could pose a problem. It is quite possible that construction traffic at that location would conflict with school traffic. Also, it is very difficult to enter and exit MacArthur Blvd. at Starleaf especially with heavy construction equipment. A better alternative may be to take your construction entrance off Sandy Lake Rd. Once these changes have been made, please resubmit revised plans so that the Grading Permit can be finalized. If you have any questions, please contact me at (972) 304,3686. Sincerely, Kenneth M. Grif~n, P.E. Director of Engineering & Public Works PARKWAY ~ P.O.BOX 478 ~r COPPIrLL TX 75019
