Sidewalk adjacent to Parkway Boulevard
from Denton Tap Road to Heartz Road
Dear Gary:
It was brought to my attention today that there may be a problem in
constructing the five foot wide sidewalk along Parkway Boulevard
between the above referenced limits due to the location of several
six (6) to nine (9) caliper inch trees which were planted several
years ago.
I verified the location of the existing trees, predominately Cedar
Elms, along the north right-of-way of Parkway Boulevard today. The
trees, ten (10) Cedar Elms, two (2) Crepe Myrtles and one (1)
partially dead Live Oak are consistently located eleven (11) to
twelve (12) feet from the existing back of curb of Parkway
Boulevard.
The movement of these trees is extremely difficult according to our
landscape architect.
I recommend that the sidewalk be placed three (3) feet from the
back of curb. This placement of sidewalk will allow a separation
of three (3) to three and one-half (3~) feet of distance between
the outside edge of sidewalk and the existing trees.
