Dear Mr. Gdffin,
We recently began to notice a disturbing settling in the ground level near
the north side of our house at 731 Lexington Avenue here in Coppell. After
discussing this with Terry Holmes, our builder, it appears to us that this settling
may have been caused by inadequate soil compaction following the installation
of the sanitary sewer (labeled on our survey plat as "vol. 68079, PG. 13 & PG.
163). Our understanding is that the soil filling any excavation in the easement
must be compacted to 95-105 Proctor. We are very concerned that this settling,
which appears to be more than one foot vertically, will jeopardize the integrity of
the ground supporting the foundation of our house.
At your eadiest convenience we would like to meet with you or someone
on your staff so that we can begin to determine what needs to be done to correct
this problem. I will call you to schedule a time.
Best regards,
Russ Howell, P.E., and Eileen Howell
