re: July 20 Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting (ZC-$83)
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Youngberg:
Thank you for your letter concerning ZC-583. Since you are unable to attend the public
hearing, we shall inform the Planning and Zoning Commission of your concerns.
Regarding the notice you received, for any rezoning to be valid state law requires notification
by mail to owners of property within 200 feet of a proposed zoning change prior to the Planning
and Zoning Commission meeting and newspaper notification to the public at large prior to the
City Council meeting. Case ZC-576(CH), which involves your property and property within
200 feet, is on the Planning and Zoning Commission agenda for its special meeting July 17 and
tentatively scheduled for City Council consideration on August 22.
Case ZC-583, which involves property beyond 200 feet, is on the July 20 Planning and Zoning
Commission docket. The scheduling of that case before City Council depends on the action the
commission takes. The earliest possible City Council date is August 8. Therefore, the Citizen
Advocate will publish a notice next Friday. However, if you will give me a call on Monday,
I can tell you if the August 8 date will still apply.
