Attached is a letter from Loretta Mokry of All,n Plummer Assooiates, a
firm known by US Army Corps of Engineers to conduct visit to determine
National Wetland. This person was "recommended" because the Corps
was unable to visit the land before the Council meeting on Tuesday. We
have sent this attachment to the city manager and mayor today, also.
The findings show a "substantial wetland area and defined stream channel"
with high quality habitat. Asain, with the impact from housing construction
along the valley due to Cenl:ex, the 6-lane highway Spur 121 and in
Lev,'isville, homeowners in Denton Creek additions are seeing erosion and
every higher rain water runoff. Homeowners new to the area are nervous.
The hydrology, planning options and mitigation requirements of this land
should be a focus of public hearings and city scrutiny.
C: Jim Wirt, City Manaser of Coppell
Candy Sheehan, Mayor of Coppell
