Stringfellow Addn-CS 860816 August 16, 1986 Dear Mr. Powell & Council Members: As per our conversation earlier this month, we are respectfully submitting a request for rezoning of the property shown on the attached exhibit. The desired zoning is Commercial (SC). The reason for this request is because of the extensive development in our area, which has made it unattractive for residential use. Our land is no longer desirable for homes because of the excessive noise and traffic. Since we are on a major intersection with a fire station and two schools nearby, we feel that it will only get worse. It is our understanding that this letter and petition will suffice for our request to be considered on the agenda at the September 18th meeting. Respectfully, Loucille Young For the Petition'ing I-lomeo~ners PETITION (.~-~ zoning) This petition is for zoning fronting on Sandy Lake Road bordered by Moore Road and Nash Street, for the following reasons: (1) The properties in general are obsolete due to the progress in this area (2) The commercial occupants in our immediate area are becoming very disturbing to the residential occupants; two of the several reasons are: (a) tremendous increase of traffic at all hours (b) the continuous necessary main- tenance of commercial property during night and pre-dawn hours. (3) By rezoning, the city will gain a greater tax base which will benefit the citizens.
