RE: Summer Place - Coppell
Dear Mr. Fleming:
The following are our recommendations and a summary of soil
constants taken on Summer Place by our laboratory.
The material found in samples 1,2,4 and 5 had a plastic
index of 15, however the lime reduction curve was run on the
highest plastic index found in this area, which was 18. It was
also found that the incorporation of 5% hydrated lime would
reduce the plastic index to around 5 to 7. The balance of the
sub-division has an average plastic index of 7.
The highest plastic index found in this area was 12 and
ranged down to a non-plastic sample. Due to this variation, we
would recommend the incorporation of 2% hydrated lime, which
will accomplish two important goals:
a) Making the material uniform.
b) Developing a homogenous mass.
We fee! that these recommendations will meet or exceed all
required standards.
It has been our pleasure to work with you on this project
and if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate
to call.
