MEMORANDUM
November 16, 1995 '
To Overton Bank, Coppell - Construction File
From Dave Dorris
Subject Underground Electrical Line Location
The purpose of this memo is to inform all parties involved of the deviation from the plans
and the reasons that brought this situation about.
The original site electrical plan ( Sheet U-1 ) shows a pad mounted transformer located on
the Northwest corner of the Northern drive-thru island. This transformer was shown to be
fed thru an underground primary line running from the pad to a riser pole located due East
of the property. In a conference on Thursday, Nov. 16th with Miles Wells of Wells Doak
Engineers, I was informed that these plans were not verified and finalized. In general
efforts to expedite plans, Wells Doak anticipates the areas that T.U. Electric will choose for
transformer locations. However, if T.U. Electric chooses to place the transformer in a
location not shown on the plans, appropriate modifications should be made to adapt to the
new location.
Rather than placing the transformer where it is shown on Sheet U-l, T.U. Electric has
chosen to provide a pole mounted transformer located just west of the Sandy Lake drive
approach. According to Rick Fielding of T.U. Electric, These poles adjacent to Sandy Lake
Road will remain in place, even after road expansion, as a permanent power source for
the southern end of the development.
This transformer location has necessitated changes in the site electrical plan. The
underground electrical line must now begin at the above mentioned transformer location
and run all the way to the Northeast corner of the building pad. A wall mounted tap can
and meter base will be installed on the Eastern side of the Northern elevation ( outside of
the mechanical room ). If this meter were installed on the Eastern elevation, we felt that
it would be ascetically unacceptable, as well as a safety hazard. The can and meter will
extend a full 18" from outside face of brick and be mounted no higher than 6' above finished
floor level. This location, in ifs proximity to the night deposit box and drive thru exit lanes,
poses a danger of a car running into the meter while pulling away from the building.
Placing the meter on the northern side eliminates the ascetics and safety issues.

In order to avoid project delays, these changes were discussed and approved by phone
with Miles Wells of Wells Doak Engineers and Mike Shipman of Overton Bank, on
Thursday, Nov. 16th. This work has also been inspected and approved by T.U. Electric.
These changes will be noted and shown on the "as-built" drawings at the conclusion of the
project.
