RE: Meadowcreek Drainage Project #DR 00-02
Dear Mr. Brown:
This letter is written as a follow-up to our meeting concerning the construction of the Meadowcreek
Drainage Project which transverses your property. During the meeting, we discussed various
aspects to the project and also the need to acquire additional drainage easements. With this letter I
am enclosing the drainage easement necessary from your property for the construction of the
improvements. The drainage easement necessary from your property is approximately 3,157 square
feet as shown on the enclosed exhibit. I have also provided a sheet of the construction plans which
shows more clearly the location of the requested drainage easement.
In addition to the dedication of the drainage easement, you requested that the City of Coppell
abandon the portion of the original drainage easement that is no longer needed. I have provided a
copy of the drainage easement to be abandoned; however, no action is necessary on your part for
the abandonment. I will take an abandonment ordinance to City Council for their approval. Once
the approval has been granted, then the document will be filed at the County showing the
abandonment of the drainage easement.
I anticipate taking the abandonment to City Council on September 25, 2001 for their approval. To
insure that this project progresses, please sign the enclosed drainage easement, have it notarized and
remm the original to the City of Coppell Engineering Department. Also, for your convenience, my
secretary is a notary if you choose to utilize that service.
Once the drainage easements are in place, we will begin the process of advertising for bids. Given
the timelines for bidding the project, and then the delay in taking the low bid to Council for
approval, it is anticipated that this project will have an award date of November 13, 2001.
