Mr. Martin,
We were notified that thc Water Manhole in MacArthur Boulevard is too high for the paving
configuration we have designed. The valve in the manhole is set very high and the rim eam~ot be
lowered to the needed elevation. Our plans show thc proposed elevation of the manhole would
have to be 468.1 plus or minus. I am attaching a copy of the Current Configuration and a New
Configuration.
The median opening could be revised to match the New Configuration. I did not change the
"Left Rear Wheel Drag Line" I have indicated on the New Configuration. Changing the 50 foot
radius to a l0 foot radius would only affect those cars attempting to make a U-Turn from
northbound to southbound. I was told that the rim of the manhole could be lowered to an
elevation near the Top of Curb nearby.
Please review this information and give Mike Daniel or me a call as soon as possible with your
comments or approval. The contractor is poised for construction immediately.
