(SE&T) is pleased to submit the recommended section of erosion protection flexible retaining walls at the subject site. These services were performed in accordance with authorization dated December 20, 2001. 1. In the development of the recommended wall designs, we utilized the data in the supplied soil report by Alpha Testing (report #00430 & dated 11-10-2000), grading plans for the project by NDM (Job #99-10-13, file #9113Gl01 & dated 4-10-2000), the supplied data showing that all proposed buildings will be supported on piers, data obtained from our site visit and our experience. 2. The recommended section of the erosion protection flexible retaining wall is shown by the attached Figure 1 & design table. The following should be realized and/or performed: a. The recommended walls are "Erosion Protection Retaining Flexible Walls" and are NOT "Structural Retaining Walls". b. In the design of the walls, it was assumed that all proposed buildings will be supported on piers and that negligible or no lateral loads will be transferred to the walls from buildings. The perforated drainage pipe at the back of the walls can be connected to a solid PVC pipe and made to discharge at the lower elevation areas to the east. d. The optional weep-holes should be either connected to a solid PVC pipe and made to discharge at the lower elevation areas to the east OR be made to discharge on to a concrete drainage flume along the toe of the walls. e. The grades along the toe of the wall should be sloped away from the wall to enhance surface water run-off. f. The construction of the above recommended walls should be inspected, monitored, and certified by a professional.
