Town Center L1B3-CS 990406 Blockbuster Video
230 N. Denton Tap
Coppell, Texas
Town Center Addition, Lot 1, Block 3, Site Plan Amendment
We are requesting an amendment to the sign color restrictions to allow a blue and yellow
"Tom ticket" sign on the southwest comer of N. Denton Tap Road and Town Center
Boulevard.
Reasons for this request:
· We would like to use our logo and registered trademark. Logos are permitted for this
site but they must be neutral in color, which do not include our registered colors of
blue and yellow.
· We have also made a change to the overall size of the sign recommended by the city.
We have reduced the size fi:om 4' X 8' (32 square feet) to 3' X 6' (18 square feet).
· As requested by the city to allow for a 'Tom ticket" we have removed the word
"Video" fi:om all sides of the building.
· Knowing the limitations of the signage that was going to be approved we changed
and did not request our typical sign package that was originally drawn for this space
which was a backlite awning running the full length of our space.
· It is very critical that the word "Video" is in our sign package to differentiate
ourselves fi:om our competition and Blockbuster Music.
· We feel that we are the major anchor for this shopping center and that a special
amendment for the use of a registered trademark or logo for this individual space
should be granted.
· We are aware of the committee's report to improve the visual image of Coppell. We
also feel that with what the alternatives could be by placing "Blockbuster Video" in
white 24 inch channel letters in this small area (12' X 6') would actually be an eye
sore, and very cluttered looking.
