In our original report (Report No. 97DG1146, dated May 12, 1997), we prox4ded recommendations
regarding the proposed pavement at the referenced project. This report contains pavement design
alternatives that may be used at this site. This information was requested by Mr. Bill Anderson with
Dowdev Anderson & Associates on June 11, 1998. The analysis followed procedures from the
American Association of State Highway Officials (~-L&SHO) Interim Guide.

The design information contained in this report is based on the following assumptions:
· fourteen equivalent 18-kip axle loadings per da)- for heaW traffic areas
· five equivalent 18-1dp axle loadings per day for light traffic areas
· CBR value of 3 for compacted natural subgrade soils
· subgrade modulus of 100 pci for compacted natural subgrade soils
· 20- )'ear design life period

In the event that greater traffic volume is expected, the thickness of the aforementioned pavement
sections should be increased within specifically loaded areas. Periodic maintenance of the pavement
will be required during the design life of the pavement. :UI other recommendations in our
