Our offtce recetved a hand written letter from Fir. Troy D. $11de~e11 dated
June 15,_1983 regarding a request for floodway revtsJon without a map
change. (attached) This letter dld not tdenttf~ the area of concern or
address any of the technical aspects of such a revision. However, ! am
guessing that the request ts tn regard to the conversation Z had ~th
Hr. Johnny Thompson (letter attached)e Zf this. Js the request addressed
Jn ~r. ;1Jd~e11's letter, the area of conce~ Js on Sandy Lake Road
just ~est of the Elm Fork of the Trinity Rtver (see attac~ents). Thls
area ~s apparently tncor~ctly JdentJfJ~ as being 1n the lO0-year
floodplain. ~e $~rve~ed grid (attache) sho~s the propert~ to be above
the Base ~ood Elevation.
~f the CJt~ of ~ppell desires to cor~ct this apparent ~ood~ay error,
our agenc~ requires ~ ~t~ of Jnfo~t~on:
1. A letter stating that the c~ty Js requesting a floodway revision
~Jthout an actual map change. ~Js later should identify the
area by attachments or refer to attac~ents already sent.
2. The cJt~ must adopt a resolution or amendment to the CJty
Floodplain ~nag~ent ordinance incorporating these
changes
