Scope Physical Requirements

Underwriter's Laboratory- UL
All pipe shall be suitable for use as a pressure
conduit. Provisions must be made for expansion and Factory Mutual -- FM
contraction at each joint with an elastomeric ring. National Sanitation Foundation
The bell shall consist of an integral wall section with UNI-BELL PVC Pipe Association
an elastomeric ring which meets*the requirements of
ASTM F-477 standard specification for elastomeric
seals (gaskets for joining plastic pipe.) The wall
thickness in the bell section shall conform to the
requirements of ASTM D-3139. Sizes and
dimensions shall be as shown in the standards cited
in this specification. When used for potable water
systems pipe shall meet the National Sanitation
Foundation Standard No. 14. The pipe shall be
manufactured to cast iron or ductile iron outside
dimensions in accordance with AWWAoC900.
