RE: Town Center West Retail Center
Dear Mr. Hinckley:
Since the development of the referenced property., the City of Coppell has experienced problems
with vehicles utilizing the eastern most entrance at various times of the day. When there is not a
break in the eastbound traffic, on Town Center Drive vehicles stack-up on westbound Town Center
Drive and into Denton/ap Road waiting to mm into the first entrance of the shopping center. This
not only impedes traffic on Denton Tap Road but also creates a dangerous situation. The problem
is compounded by the school traffic utilizing Town Center Drive. The insistence of motorists
utilizing the first entrance is somewhat confusing given the fact that there are two additional
entrances further west that more safely allow you to access the shopping center.
Based on my observation and in accordance with Section 8-2-10 of the Coppell Code of
Ordinances, I will be installing signs to prohibit left mm movements at certain times of the day.
The prohibition will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through
Friday. These times generally conform to the start and end of the day at Coppell High School. To
further assist motorists, I will also add a plaque to the sign which states "use next entrance". Your
help will be greatly appreciated in disbursing this information to tenants in the shopping center.
The signs should be installed within the next few weeks. If you should have any questions or
comments please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
