ST9801-CS001005October 5, 2000 Robert Weber, Project Manager Ed Bell Construction Company 10605 Harry Hines Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75220 RE: Coppell Road Project//ST98-01 Dear Mr. Weber: It has been brought to the City of Coppell's attention by Gary Pryor with Ed Bell Construction Company that there will be a substantial increase in the quantity on Bid Item lb-64, "Adjusting Existing Irrigation Sprinkler Heads to Grade" on the Coppell Road project. The original quantity shown in the contract bid document was 20 and Gary Prior has indicated that it will exceed 150. We have not received a final count as of this date. Item 1.37.1 entitled "Increased or Decreased Quantities of Work" in the North Central Texas Council of Government Standard Specifications states" .... When the quantity of work to be done or of materials to be furnished under any major item of the contract is more than 125 percent of the quantity stated in the contract, then either party to the contract, upon demand, shall be entitled to negotiate for revised consideration on the portion of work above 125 percent of the quantity stated in the contract., The City is requesting the opportunity to negotiate Bid Item Ib-64, "Adjust Existing Irrigation Sprinkler Heads to Grade". Once the actual number of heads are determined the City would like to schedule a meeting to discuss this issue. Please call me at your earliest convenience at (972) 304-3679 so that a meeting can be scheduled between the appropriate people at your office and the City of Coppell to work through and resolve this issue.
