Dear Mr. Martin:
As you are aware, the actual location of the GTE fiber duct in the vicinity of the main driveway
at The Mansions has been in question. Additionally, GTE has maintained that they didn't want
to lower this portion of the duct bank until they were certain that the duct would be in conflict
with the proposed improvements and EBCC switched traffic to facilitate their lowering.
During excavation and fine grade work in this area on September 20, 2000, it became evident
that a signific'ant portion (approximately 250 feet)of the duct is in conflict with the pavement
and subgrade stabilization. Please suspend time charges beginning on September 20, 2000 until
GTE removes the conflict and we can remobilize to complete our work.
