Bnclose~l is a copy of the {eotechnical test results for c~ment/lime for subgrade preparation. As
shown in the previous tests the soil in the addition is a low plasticity very sandy clay. The P.I.
of the surface soils varim across thc tract from a low of 7.1 to 18.4. We feel that these mils
will gain little from soil stabilization but your criteria will only consider ~emption for soila in
the 6 to 12 range. We therefore request that the area of qualifying P.I. be allowed to I~
processed without lime or cement and that the other areas be processed with a 5% lime content.
The attached map shows the areas for lime a~d no addition. We feel that the use of additional
lime beyond 4% will impart little if any P.I. reduction and feel that the 5~ addition will reflect
field conditions. It is our understanding that Parkway Blvd. mid Minyard were built without
lime. As slnt~ in our previous coiTMpondgoCe, w~ will stin ~..a~ify and mix the surface sou
to & depth of 6 to 9 inches and compact it to a 95 % standard proctor density under optimum
moisture.
By submittal of this letter, we request that you wnive the lime subgrade u permitted in your
