I have contacted Albert Halff and Associates, the engineering fwm that performed the 1992
Floodplain Study on Andrew Brown Park East and Denton Creek. I asked what it would
cost to perform an initial look at the previous study to determine if the land at the end of
Moore Road could be reclaimed. I also asked for information on what the actual study
would cost.
Attached to this memo is a fax that I received from Walter Skipwith, with Albert Halff, on
December 11, 1996 itemizing the costs associated with the floodplain study. The
preliminary part of the study is over $4,000 and the overall study is approximately $35,000.
The fees to FEMA for the review are in excess of $1,000. Based on the information
provided by Halff and Associates, the overall cost to do the turnkey reclamation of the land
at the end of Moore Road would be in the range of $35,000 to $40,000. Again, this is all
based on the concept that the land could be reclaimed.
