Dear Robed,
As you are aware, we have been shut down numerous times during our construction,
due to problems with Southwestern Bell Telephone. As of today, only one conflict has
been taken care of. This conflict required that the phone company lower their line at
Beltline Road, however our crews were required to repair the road due to the phone
company not using the proper compacfion or street repair matedais.
Dudng the construction of this project, we have had fo skip all areas where we
encountered conflicts with the telephone lines and keep progress on the job moving
forward. Due to these conflicts we have had to make concrete collars at our expense in
order to be able to complete these areas after the conflicts are cured.
As of Fdday, November 13, 1998, we have pulled our crews from the job, until which time
we can return and complete our work in the conflicted areas. Therefore any time delays
associated with this contract in connection with our work should not be charged against
us, since we have no responsibility in forcing Southwestern Bell Telephone to clear the
conflicts.
